“Be-bop Retrospective” will be performed by Mickey Bass and the New York Powerhouse Ensemble at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. This is made possible by Chamber Music America’s 2017 New Jazz Works Awards and funded through the generosity of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

Legendary Bassist & Bandleader Mickey Bass is a Hard-bop veteran. A ‘regular spark plug’ on the New York jazz scene for almost fifty years, the roster of sidemen who have come up through his bands reads as a veritable ‘who’s who’ on today’s jazz scene. Bass himself has had recordings stints with; Hank Mobley & Lee Morgan for Blue Note Records, Bobby Timmons on Prestige, and Curtis Fuller on Mainstream, and many others.

Tickets: $20
